The Solution-Focused approach represents a fascinating blend of simplicity and power. The various tools appear almost too simple; yet clients repeatedly demonstrate powerful, sometimes life changing responses. This workshop will revisit the familiar Solution-focused ideas with Michael's particular "twist". Participants will be encouraged to build a fresh perspective on the ideas and tools in a way that will re-inspire their Solution-Focused practice. The workshop will seek to place Solution-Focused Brief Therapy within insights gained from the broader strengths and resilience research (while also being clear that SFBT is more than just a "strengths-based" approach). The similarities and differences between the same tools employed in a variety of different settings will be explored, and some innovative applications presented. The examples may include work with young people, families, people with mental health problems, school settings, drug and alcohol, and more. Contact John Wheeler on John@johnwheeler.co.uk for details
